Foundation Apprenticeship, Level 2 or Level 3 in Security System Installation.

We are looking for an apprentice to join our expanding team.

The apprentice training will focus on providing essential skills in electronics, health and safety, and low-voltage cabling, skills in installing, servicing, and maintaining electronic security systems such as CCTV, intruder alarms, and access control.

Role Responsibilities
As an apprentice engineer, you'll be trained and supported by experienced professionals to help you develop the skills needed to Install, service, and maintain:
• Access control
• CCTV systems
• Automatic gates, doors, and barriers
• Assist in troubleshooting and diagnostics
• Work on a variety of commercial sites
• Read technical drawings and documentation
• Maintain health & safety and quality standards on-site
• Provide excellent customer serviceRequirements
Essential:
• Interest in technical, electrical, or mechanical systems
• Willingness to learn and follow instructions
• Good communication and problem-solving skills
• Basic tool knowledge

Security Systems Engineer Job Description

We design, install, and maintain the full spectrum of security technology from high-definition CCTV, access control and intruder alarms to complex automated gates and barriers.We're looking for a motivated Security Systems Engineer to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone who's hands-on, eager to learn, and looking for a long-term career in a growing industry.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Installation, testing, commissioning and servicing of various wired and wireless Intruder alarms, CCTV, access control, door hardware, mechanical, electrical locking systems and automatic doors.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose problems
  • Provide technical support to customers as needed
  • Keep accurate records of all work completed
  • Travelling to new and existing customer sites in different environments
  • To provide callout response for the client as per an agreed callout rota
  • To provide a professional service and represent the company in a way which ensures customer satisfaction
  • Take a pro-active approach to problem solving and ensure that concerns are dealt with or relayed to management as necessary
  • To always comply with company policies, Health and Safety legislation, site rules etc
  • Working in public sector, education, commercial, construction sites and domestic premises.
  • Familiar with SSAIB/NSI standards and codes of practice.

Must Have Experience Required/Certifications Required:

  • Must be an experienced Security Systems Engineer
  • Installation/Service/Commissioning on security systems
  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills
  • Need to gain a clear enhanced DBS check
  • British Standard BS7858 Security Check
  • Knowledge of security systems installation techniques, equipment and tools
  • Electrical qualifications (desirable)
  • Familiarity with industry regulations and standards
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, included evenings and weekends where required.
  • Current CSCS card would be desirable but not essential
  • Valid driver's license
